Amit Shah Targets Congress in Hyderabad Rally, Vows to Remove Every Illegal Immigrant

Amit Shah leads BJP's democracy march in Hyderabad, attacks Rahul Gandhi and Congress over SIR, alleged Bangladeshi infiltrators, electoral roll deletions and corruption, while challenging the opposition to a parliamentary debate.

Hyderabad: Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a sharp attack on the Congress and the opposition INDIA bloc during the BJP's 'Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy' march in Hyderabad on Monday, accusing the opposition of spreading a misleading narrative against the Narendra Modi government. He also vowed that the BJP would remove every illegal immigrant from the country's electoral rolls and the country, regardless of the opposition's protests.

Shah led the march, carrying the national flag. Union Coal Minister G. Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar and other Telangana BJP leaders accompanied him. The march began near the statue of Babu Jagjivan Ram and concluded at Mozamjahi Market, where Shah addressed a public meeting.

Recalling the integration of Hyderabad into India, Shah said, "If Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel had not made the Nizam bow down, Hyderabad would not have been part of India today. It was Sardar Patel who made the Nizam of Hyderabad bow down and integrated Hyderabad into India. He made Telangana a part of India."

Calls Rahul Gandhi's Rally an 'Save Infiltrators' Rally

Targeting the Congress over its recent rally in Delhi, Shah described the event led by Rahul Gandhi as an attempt to protect illegal immigrants rather than safeguard voters.

"Yesterday, a rally was also held in Delhi. It was Rahul ji's rally. They said it was a 'Save Votes' rally. Congress leaders, this was not a Save Votes rally; it was a Save Infiltrators rally," Shah said.

He alleged that the Congress wanted to prevent the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls to protect Bangladeshi infiltrators from being removed from the country's voter list.

"But I have come here today to say that Rahul ji and Revanth Reddy ji, no matter how hard you try, the BJP will remove every single infiltrator from the voter list and the country. These infiltrators are their vote bank, but we BJP workers stand firmly with the SIR process. Only a citizen of this country will be allowed to cast a vote here," he said.

How Were 13 Crore Votes Removed?

Responding to Rahul Gandhi's allegation that 13 crore votes had been deleted, Shah dismissed the claim as false and explained the figures by citing different categories of voters.

"Rahul Baba says that 13 crore votes have been deleted. He is lying. Of these 13 crore people, more than 6.25 crore have shifted to other places. Should someone who has moved elsewhere have the right to vote in two places?" Shah asked.

He further claimed that 2.8 crore voters had died and questioned whether their names should remain on the electoral rolls.

"One crore entries are duplicates. If one person has two votes, should one not be cancelled? Three crore voters do not exist at all. These are Bangladeshi infiltrators," he alleged.

Says BJP's Electoral Victories Are Not Linked to SIR

Shah also rejected the opposition's allegation that the BJP's electoral victories were linked to the SIR exercise. Citing the 2014, 2019 and 2024 general elections, he said the BJP had won because of the support of Indian voters.

"They say we are not winning because of SIR. Modi ji won in 2014 when there was no SIR. Did Modi ji win because of SIR? He won in 2019 and 2024 as well. All these elections were won because of the voters of India," Shah said.

He went on to list the BJP's electoral victories in Maharashtra, Haryana, Delhi, Bihar, West Bengal and Assam, adding that the party had now come to Telangana with the same objective.

"After 2024, we won in Maharashtra, secured the biggest majority in Haryana, won in Delhi after 30 years, won in Bihar, and completely defeated Didi in Bengal. We won Assam for the third consecutive time," he said.

Taking another swipe at Rahul Gandhi, Shah referred to the mock Parliament organised two days earlier.

"Rahul ji, listen to me. Two days ago, you held a mock Parliament. Had you asked me, I would have told you that instead of becoming the Leader of the Opposition in a fake Parliament, you should become the Prime Minister, because you will not be able to form a real Parliament," he said.

Challenges Opposition to Debate in Parliament

Shah challenged the opposition to participate in a discussion during the special session of Parliament, saying the BJP was ready to debate the issues raised by its critics.

"From the land of Hyderabad, I challenge you. We are calling a special session of Parliament. Come and let us discuss these issues. I know he will not come because he knows he can spread hatred only through anarchy. If he comes to Parliament, Modi ji will tear his arguments apart," Shah said.

He also questioned the opposition's criticism of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), pointing to electoral victories by opposition parties in several states.

"When they lose, they blame EVMs. If EVMs are faulty, how did Revanth Reddy win? How did your government come to power in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Himachal Pradesh? If EVMs were so bad, you should not have taken the oath of office," he said.

Accuses Congress of Rs 12 Lakh Crore Scams in 10 Years

Shah accused the Congress of corruption during its 10 years in power, alleging that the party was responsible for scams worth Rs 12 lakh crore.

Referring to a Hindi proverb, 'Naach na jaane aangan tedha', he said the Congress was blaming external factors despite being rejected by voters.

"The people of the country have rejected you. You cannot match Modi's popularity. During your 10 years in power, you were involved in scams and corruption. Congress committed scams worth Rs 12 lakh crore in 10 years. Should the country be handed back to you?" Shah asked.

Contrasting the allegations against the Congress with the Modi government's record, he claimed that Modi had completed 12 years in office without facing even an allegation of corruption worth four annas.

"Rahul ji, you cannot win elections by spreading such misconceptions," he said.

Calls Congress a Party on Ventilator, Targets Revanth Reddy

Shah intensified his attack on the Congress leadership in Telangana, urging voters to remove the party from the state.

"Rahul ji, your party is gradually coming to an end. People of Telangana, take a pledge before leaving here that Congress must be uprooted from Telangana completely. Congress itself is on a ventilator. Can this party run a marathon alongside Modi ji?" he said.

He alleged that corruption had taken place wherever the Congress had been given an opportunity to govern.

Targeting Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Shah alleged that an arrangement called 'RR Tax' was operating in the state and questioned whether the money was going to the Chief Minister.

"Does this RR Tax in Telangana go to Revanth Reddy? This is not Revanth Reddy Tax; it is Rahul Gandhi Through Revanth Reddy Tax," Shah alleged.

He added that the people of Telangana would never forgive the Congress government over the issue.

Appeals for Two-Thirds Majority for BJP in Telangana

Shah also accused the Congress government of allowing corruption and conspiring to sell Telangana, questioning whether the Congress, Asaduddin Owaisi's party or the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) could stop it.

"The corruption taking place in Telangana and the conspiracy to sell Telangana—can Congress stop it? Can Owaisi stop it? Can BRS stop it? Only the BJP under the leadership of Modi ji can stop this," he said.

He called on BJP workers to visit every household and counter what he described as misinformation spread by the Congress.

Concluding his address, Shah appealed to the people of Telangana to support the BJP and give it a two-thirds majority to form the government in the state.
